About Our Church:

To Everything, There Is A Season . . .

    Saturday Evening, June 14th, 2003
We met for church tonight, as usual. We sang songs, as usual. The last song we sang was "Turn, Turn, Turn", a song based on the Book of Ecclesiastes, chapter 3.

      To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep

      To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven

A time to build up,a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together

      To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing

      To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time for peace, I swear it's not too late

Fred's sermon tonight was on this song - "A time for every purpose under Heaven". As the sermon drew to an end it slowly became clear that the sermon was about Shepherd's Promise. The time for Shepherd's Promise as a weekly Saturday evening church service has come to an end, after nearly 8 years.

On Saturday, June 21st 2003, we will have a final covered dish supper as Shepherd's Promise church.

With a few tears, Karen and Fred made it clear that we do not want to loose the relationships we have developed with our friends at Shepherd's Promise. Hopefully, we continue to get together at least once a month.

Who Are We?

  • Shepherd's Promise is a very small church. We meet in a home.
  • Our average attendance is around 20 people. We all know each other on a first name basis.
  • Our service starts with a time for people to present praise reports and prayer requests.
  • Then we sing Praise and Worship songs.
  • Pastor Fred and Pastor Karen usually share the teaching.
  • After the service, there is always time for special prayer needs.
  • Everyone is welcome at Shepherd's Promise!
